Troilee Datta is an Internationally acclaimed Sarod player and proudly represents Maihar Gharana.

The sarod recital scheduled for Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, and  Mr. Najib Razak, Hon’ble Prime Minister of Malaysia, in 2017 under a special invitation was one of Troilee’s major sarod performances.  Hon’ble Prime Minister  Sri Narendra Modi was glad to listen to her one-and-a-half-hour-long sarod recital and blessed her. This exclusive event was organized at Hyderabad House, New Delhi, on 01 April 2017.

Troilee has widely performed in many major music festivals in India, spread over several well-known cultural spots in the country. Troilee also served with her music in important events in Abu Dhabi, Germany, Italy, and The Netherlands and received high acclamations.

Troilee received her Ph.D. from Rabindra Bharati University, completed under Professor Sanjoy Bandopadhyay, the Ustad Allauddin Khan Chair Professor, in 2020.  Earlier she received Gold Medal as the topper in the MA examination from the same university. Ministry of HRD, Government of India, awarded her Junior Research Fellowship and qualified in UGC-NET.

When Troilee was five, Pandit Kamal Mallick started affectionately grooming her with utmost attention and care. She received the most coveted taalim from Pandit Kamal Mallick and has bloomed as a Sarod Player in her contemporary era. Later she received guidance on advanced music-making techniques from Professor (Pandit) Sanjoy Bandopadhyay, one of the finest sitar players in the country. Now Troilee is under the guidance of the great Sarod maestro Pt. Partho Sarathy, one of the foremost disciples of Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar.

She is a regular artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan. Troilee won several music competitions, including the prestigious competition arranged by Dover Lane Music Conference, Kolkata (2009).

Troilee is a SPICMACAY and ICCR-impaneled musician.
