SUSANTA TALUKDAR
Susanta Talukdar is a sought-after tabla player in Kolkata. He has grown under the blessed umbrella of ace musicians of the nation like Ustad Rashid Khan, Vidushi Purnima Chowdhury, the octogenarian Pandit Vijay Kichlu, and others.
Sushanta, the proud disciple of the living Tabla legend Pt. Anindo Chatterjee, received appreciations and support from the ace musicians of the nation like Ustad Rashid Khan, Vidushi Purnima Chowdhury, the octogenarian Pandit Vijay Kichlu, and others.
Susanta is a proud disciple of the living tabla legend Pandit Anindo Chatterjee and received the opportunity to groom under his ultimate guidance in tabla playing. Susanta also had the opportunity to learn with Sri Haradhan Dutta and Sri Mallar Ghosh. He is a First Class MA in Tabla from Rabindra Bharati University.
The one and only one Ustad Rashid Khan absorbed Susanta in his institution ‘Shakhri Begum Memorial Trust’ as Principal Teacher and Tabla Guru. The institute later felicitated Susanta for his excellence in teaching. Earlier, Susanta received the prestigious HMV Golden Talent Award in All Bengal Music Competition in 1997.
Susanta has provided tabla support on stage and in workshops to many top-of-the-line musicians. He also featured in several TV programs through well-known regional and national radio and TV channels.
