Soumalya Mukhopadhyay is a renowned Indian Slide Guitar maestro with a remarkable career spanning over two decades. His musical journey began at the age of seven, mentored by his grandfather, Shree Haradhan Mukhopadhyay, and later by Indian Slide Guitar maestro Shree Swapan Majumder and sitar virtuoso late Pandit Soumitra Lahiri. Soumalya’s dedication to his craft has earned him numerous accolades, including first place in the Bangiyo Sangeet Parishad competitions, a National Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, and second place in the All India Radio Music Competition. He is also an empanelled artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and holds the B-high grade artist of All India Radio, Kolkata.

Beyond his musical achievements, Soumalya is an accomplished scholar with a Master’s degree in History from Rabindra Bharati University. He has pursued academic endeavors as a Junior Research Fellow of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is currently a Ph.D. research scholar at Raiganj University, West Bengal.
